Historic Houses and Gardens of Lincolnshire

Three Day trip to Belvoir Castle, Belton House (NT) and a boat trip on Rutland Water. Staying at the Marriott Hotel in Peterborough.
Belvoir Castle is a Regency-style castle located in the Vale of Belvoir. It has been the home of the Duke of Rutland’s family since 1067. The name Belvoir – meaning ‘beautiful view’ in French and pronounced today as ‘beaver’ – dates back to Norman times.

A boat trip on Rutland Water offers a serene escape into nature's embrace. The Rutland Belle, a well-known cruiser, has been navigating these waters since 1986, providing passengers with a unique perspective of the reservoir's beauty.

Belton House is a Grade I listed country house located in the parish of Belton near Grantham in Lincolnshire, England. It was built between 1685 and 1687 by Sir John Brownlow, 3rd Baronet, and is considered to be a complete example of a typical English country house1. The house is surrounded by formal gardens and a series of avenues leading to follies within a larger wooded park. It is a leading example of the Elizabethan prodigy house and is still lived in by the Cecil family.
