The U3A Garden Group is planning a visit to Wollerton Old Hall an acclaimed three-acre plantsman's garden renowned for its stunning Arts and Crafts style "garden rooms" and exceptional plant collections. Developed around a 16th-century hall (not open to the public), the garden is particularly famous for its roses, salvias, clematis, and vibrant perennial borders, offering a spectacular display of colour and form throughout the seasons. Members can wander through individual garden areas, each with a unique character and clever planting combinations, providing inspiration for members. The visit will also include the opportunity to browse the on-site plant centre, where many of the garden's unusual plants are available for purchase, and enjoy excellent refreshments, including homemade cakes and light lunches, in the lovely tea room.
