Paul Isherwood – Breaking Free from Gambling Addiction
Oswestry u3a is pleased to welcome Paul Isherwood for a powerful and thought-provoking talk sharing his personal journey from addiction to recovery.
At just 10 years old, Paul found himself drawn into the world of gambling, beginning a four-year struggle that would leave a lasting impact on his young life. Thankfully, a moment of realisation gave him the courage to seek help and begin the journey towards change.
Now in his fifties, Paul looks back on those difficult years and explains what it felt like to be trapped by gambling addiction, the challenges he faced, and the support that helped him break free. Having never gambled again, Paul shares a story of honesty, resilience and hope.
This fascinating talk is both a warning about the dangers of addiction and an uplifting reminder that, with the right help and determination, it is possible to overcome even the greatest challenges.
This is part of the ongoing programme at Oswestry u3a, where members enjoy learning, sharing interests, and meeting like-minded people. Find out more at oswestry.u3asite.uk.
