This week we are heading to the beautiful grounds of Chirk Castle for a lovely bluebell walk. In late spring, the woodland around the castle comes alive with a rich carpet of bluebells, stretching out beneath the trees and creating a truly special scene. It is a fine place to enjoy the quiet of nature, with far reaching views across the countryside adding to the day.
The walk follows well kept paths through woodland and open ground, with gentle slopes along the way. It is an easy and steady route, giving everyone time to take in the colour of the bluebells and the setting of the castle. At around three to four miles, it is just right for a relaxed outing with plenty of chances to pause and enjoy the view.
This is a grand walk for those who enjoy fresh air, woodland paths, and good company in a fine historic setting, after the walk we normally take time to have some refreshment in the Castle Tea Rooms.
