We are pleased to welcome Nikki Backhouse from Cuan Wildlife Rescue, a registered charity based in Much Wenlock, for an informative and inspiring talk on the vital work they do in protecting and caring for our local wildlife.

Each year, Cuan Wildlife admits over 6,000 sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals and birds. Their dedicated team works tirelessly to nurse these creatures back to health. Once they’ve recovered, every effort is made to return them to the wild—ideally to the very location they were found, giving them the best chance to reconnect with their territory or even a waiting mate.

This talk will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the centre’s daily work, the types of animals they care for, and the challenges involved in wildlife rehabilitation. It will also highlight the importance of public support, as the charity relies entirely on donations from individuals and businesses to continue its work.
