This week we are taking this lovely walk through the beautiful Llanforda Estate, just outside Oswestry. Well known for its peaceful woodland, Llanforda is particularly special in late spring when the native bluebells are in full bloom. At this time of year, the ancient woodland is transformed into a sea of blue, creating a wonderful sight beneath the trees. Bluebells thrive in these undisturbed woodlands, and their presence is a sign of a healthy and well-established natural environment.
Our walk follows woodland paths and quiet lanes through this charming part of the Oswestry countryside. The walking is easy, with gentle inclines and good paths underfoot. The walk is about 3.5 miles and will take us less than 2 hours at a steady pace, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and take in the beauty of the bluebells.
This is a perfect walk for those who enjoy nature, peaceful woodlands, and good company.
Directions are: Go into town to the traffic lights by Textile Express and turn up Upper Brook Street, then take the second right into Oswalds Place. Carry straight on up the road - it turns into Maserfield. Continue to the top and park at the end of the road
