Every year, Oswestry u3a members look forward to our special Walking Away Day – a chance to explore further afield, enjoy good company, and take in some of the best scenery our region has to offer.

This year we will be heading to the beautiful Precipice Walk, near Dolgellau. This well-loved route offers stunning views across the Mawddach Estuary and surrounding mountains, all on a good, clear path suitable for most walkers.

Walk Details:

• Start Point: Precipice Walk Car Park, (Toilets) near Dolgellau
• Distance: Approximately 3 miles
• Difficulty: Moderate – good paths with some gentle climbs, however there is some uneven ground, so walking poles recommended.
• Walking Time: Around 2 hours, allowing for plenty of stops to enjoy the views, and take our picnic lunch looking towards Barmouth

This is a circular route, giving us time to take in the scenery at a steady pace, with time to chat and relax along the way.

As is our tradition, after the walk we will head into the lovely market town of Dolgellau. There will be time to enjoy refreshments together in one of the local cafés or inns, before making our way home.

This is always a very sociable part of the day, giving us time to share stories and reflect on another good outing together.
