This 4 mile walk starts at the Queens Head. We follow the canal through the new nature reserve at Aston Locks. This part is full of birds and old canal views. The walk then goes uphill to St Winifred’s Well. This is an ancient holy well and place of pilgrimage, now cared for by the Landmark Trust.

We return along the road to Wooton and the Queens Head, then rejoin the canal for the final stretch back. The route can be muddy and wet, with a few steady inclines, so good boots are needed.
