Our walk takes about 2 hours, 4.25 miles on lanes and tracks, rated as Easy . Walking through Dee Valley, one is enveloped in the serene beauty of the Welsh landscape. The valley, with its rolling hills and tranquil river, offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a place where one can reflect and find solace amidst nature's embrace. Whether it's the gentle flow of the River Dee or the lush greenery, that turns golden in the autumn, that adorns the valley, each step taken is a step closer to inner peace and rejuvenation. The Dee Valley is not just a journey through nature, but a journey through the soul.
Travel along the A5 through the Llangollen lights and on until you see Berwyn train station and the Chain Bridge Hotel on the right (about 2 miles) before the sharp right hand bend and the start of the uphill section of the road. Take the second right after the station, (NOT the one signed Horseshoe Falls), it’s about 50 yards further on. There’s metal railings, go over the rail bridge, park on the left by the railway line. Park "nose" in. Phil will lead this walk.
