Our traditional easy 3.5 mile pre-Christmas walk, starting from the Castle Car park walking down to the Montgomery Canal, into Welshpool then back to the castle, via the "Town Gate". Here we end the year with refreshments in the castle café.

Originally built by Welsh princes in the early 13th century, Powis Castle has maintained much of its exterior grandeur. It has been the stately home of noble families, including the Herbert and Clive families. The castle is renowned for its beautiful gardens, which are meticulously maintained and offer stunning views. As Prince Charles, the King has stayed many times in the Castle on his visits to Wales.
