The Guildhall in Oswestry stands proudly on Bailey Head and has been a centre of town life since 1893. Built in fine stone with an impressive clock tower, it replaced an older hall that had become unsafe. Designed by Henry Cheers, the building once housed the borough council and now holds the Oswestry Town Museum, the Attfield Theatre, and Town Council offices. Its grand rooms and staircase reflect the pride and ambition of Victorian Oswestry. The Guildhall remains a busy place where history, community and local heritage meet.
