Join us for an enjoyable autumn walk starting from the Cross Guns car park at 10.00am. Car sharing is recommended where possible. This is a moderate walk of around 4 miles, with some steep sections where extra care is needed. Our route follows Tregarthen and Blackridge Lanes before reaching Llynclys Common. We then cross the common on footpaths and continue above the impressive Blodwell Rock, where there are excellent views towards the Berwyns. From there we join Offa's Dyke Path and follow the edge of the golf course to a viewpoint with outstanding panoramic views across Mid Wales. After taking time to enjoy the scenery, we cross the golf course and return to the car park via Golf Course Lane.
As this walk takes place in October, the weather can change quickly. Sturdy walking boots are essential, and waterproof clothing and walking poles are strongly recommended. Sue Williams has kindly agreed to lead this walk.
Take the Welshpool Road (A483) out of Oswestry. Continue towards the end of Pant village to the now closed Cross Guns Pub we will use the Car Park. Please do not park in the school car park.
