Bodenham is set in a protected valley, well away from traffic noise and any modern intrusions. Its 170 acres hold mature woodland, specimen trees and shrubs, with over 3000 species, including fine collections of Acers, North American Oaks and Alders. There are also two chains of pools and lakes within a working farm. The plantings and water cover 54 acres, and visitors can enjoy more than 5 miles of steady woodland walks. There are 15 pools with a constant supply of fresh water, and bridges lead out to small islands, such as Giants Island, which children have always enjoyed exploring. This visit will give members the chance to see how a large garden grows when shaped by long care and tradition.
Bodenham Arboretum is situated 20 miles west of Birmingham, 19 miles north of Worcester and 3 miles north of Kidderminster. Follow the brown signs “Bodenham Arboretum” westwards from Wolverley Church island along the B4189. Sat Nav DY11 5TB At the end of the long driveway you will find a large, free carpark.
