Our early December Oswestry u3a walk will take us to Llanymynech Rocks, a remarkable spot that straddles the border between England and Wales. This limestone outcrop is rich in history and natural beauty. Once shaped by centuries of quarrying, it is now a peaceful haven filled with wildlife, woodlands, and striking views across the countryside. We’ll explore traces of its industrial past as we enjoy this moderate 3.5-mile walk, finishing at Phil’s for mince pies and coffee – a lovely way to round off the morning together.
Take the Welshpool Road (A483) out of Oswestry, Go to the end of Pant Village , After passing the Cross Guns Pub, take the second right into Underhill Lane. Parking is 100 yards down the lane. Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve. If it's busy we may need to park "nose to tail"
